JOHN E. WILLIAMS - DIRECTOR OF BOUNDARY BREAKERS
I served 3 years in the USMC 1977-80 where I first learned martial arts. After being discharged, I continued my education of fighting through various styles of Karate and Boxing. In 1988 I was the Arizona State Golden Gloves Boxing Champion and trainer for the lightweight world champion kickboxer. After breaking my hand in a fight I retired from boxing and began training kids from Phoenix neighborhoods.

I am married with three children and I am currently living in Phoenix and own a construction company. I have attended Phoenix First Assembly of God since November 1992.

At present I am the Director of Youth Prison Outreaches with Boundary Breakers and Athletes International Ministries. We currently work weekly with Adobe Mountain Detention Center for boys, and Black Canyon Girls School. Athletes join us to share their testimonies while encouraging the youth to make better choices upon their release. My goal is to show them love, and impact their lives in a positive way. We also have a discipleship program, assigning them a mentor, who will help plug them in to the community to achieve community service hours.

I have been involved in prison ministry throughout the world on various mission trips in the countries of Ukrane, India, Chile and Africa. I have participated in local prison outreaches in Phoenix with Meadowlark Lemon and Mike Barber Prison Ministries, basketball camps with Focus on the Family, and inner city youth camps as a counselor for teenagers.

My heart goes out to the hurting young people suffering from lack of love. As a child I was in detention school not knowing Christ. In my youth I got involved in crime that carried over into my adult life. I was in and out of jails searching for something in my life. When I attended an Athletes International Ministries (AIM) Bible study in 1992, the experience changed my life and gave me a vision to take my testimony and share it with young people. My hope is that they will not have to follow in my footsteps but make better choices because of my testimony.
